“Modeling”…we all do it.  An idea or concept starts in our head and we just have to express it!

• Scientists build models of observable processes and patterns in nature by devising hypotheses and theories.
• Technologists build real and virtual models by creating software to provide us with useful tools, most of which we never knew we even needed.
• Engineers build physical replicas and computer models of objects ranging in size from nanoparticles to skyscrapers and space stations.
• Artists build models using a variety of materials and digital media to depict images and concepts for our pleasure and amazement.
• Mathematicians develop conceptual and analytical models through the language of formulas.

Models are  artifacts of human inventiveness, creativity, and innovation.  We can’t  help ourselves; our brains are literally programmed to build models.  So Raise the Bar in terms of your awareness of modeling and participate in a unique educational opportunity: the STEM Modeling Challenge©.  You  will be amazed at what you and your brain can accomplish!
